Denis Bandura currently holds the position of Managing Director
for BBC Chartering based in Dubai, UAE. Bandura began his
career in Shipbroking for many different companies before joining
BBC Chartering in 1999, based in Leer, Germany. In 2003, he came
to the Middle East as part of BBC’s efforts to build up new infra-
structure in project cargo and has been based in the Middle East ever
since. In a Q & A with Al Bayan Magazine on the sidelines of
Breakbulk Middle East, Bandura talked about the added value
behind their participation in the exhibition and the main challenges
they are facing. He further gave us an idea about the characteristics
that differentiate BBC Chartering from other similar companies.
Below is an account of the interview.
* What are the main challenges facing you besides Covid-19?
- We are probably at the highest peak of the market performance at
the moment. This is a good challenge to have so we just need to
adjust to the changing world and to pursue sustainability.
* As BBC Chartering, how do you look at the Gulf market?
- We have been here for around 17 years & Gulf is an important mar-
ket for us with super big potential.
* Where are you from the digital transformation?
- Digitalization has become key and it does save cost and time and
makes things easy but I am a little bit traditional. I believe shipping in and these services include project planning, route surveys, lift engineering, project manage-

Manager at Hareket on the sidelines of
Breakbulk Middle East, he gave us an idea
about their company and the characteristics
that differentiate them from other similar
companies. He further gave us an idea about
their plans for 2022 and explained how Covid-
19 affected their work. Following is an extract
from the interview.
* Can you give us an idea about your company?
- Hareket was established in 1957 in Turkey. We started our process as a bond-discharging
service provider and after that we expanded our operations into heavy lifting and project
transportation. We provide engineered heavy lifting and transportation services to our clients
ment and installation works. With a strong proven track record of projects within Turkey, the
Caspian and MENA regions, we serve clients throughout the oil & gas, petrochemical,
renewable energy, power industry and concentrate on greenfield, shutdown, maintenance
and offshore projects. With our headquarters located in Istanbul and our branch offices in
Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman ,Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Spain and South Korea we
operate internationally in the CIS, Middle East and Africa.
* What differentiate you from other similar companies?
- Over the years, Hareket has been known for its high service standards and reliability. We,
as a solution partner, plan every stage to the smallest detail prior to the beginning of the pro-
ject upon completion. The feasibility analysis is carried out carefully with in-depth technical
know-how by our engineers. A technical evaluation right from the start ensures a professional
preparation of the project. Transport and installation services are conducted by using inter-
national standards, state-of-the-art equipment and under the supervision of our experts on-
site. Moreover, we offer our services and equipment to a broad range of sectors. Each indus-
try has its individual working standards and safety requirements. Due to our proven track
record and expertise within the region, our team of specialists has a profound understanding
of these specific needs. We make sure that our clients receive the support they need and the
project will be executed in a timely and safe manner.
* What are your plans for 2022?
- The Middle East is a strategic market for us. We entered our 4th year in Dubai. We are in
a strong position with our equipment park and experienced team. We also carried out our
structuring in Oman and Abu Dhabi. We worked as the main heavy lifting contractor on the
Duqm Oil Refinery Project in Oman.
We will continue our expansion processes, we are planning to expand our organizations into
Qatar and establish a new company there. We will also focus more on Iraq especially that
most power plants and oil & gas projects are based there. Moreover, we will invest more in
heavy transport and lifting and continue our expansion in the European countries.

* You are celebrating the 65th anniversary of Hareket. What is your comment?
- Since its establishment, Hareket has been well known for its high service standards and
innovative approaches that enable cost-effective and efficient construction and maintenance,
while maintaining maximum safety levels. A deep understanding and knowledge of our cus-
tomer’s needs have been essential for our business throughout the years as we are operat-
ing in different sectors. We have proven over the years that our versatility and adaptability to
meet the customer requirements distinguish us from our competitors. We are proud of our
creative engineering, professional project management system, state-of-the-art heavy lifting
and transportation fleet and professional team. These factors enabled us to execute instal-
lation and disassembly services for industrial plants as well as the transportation and instal-
lation including mechanical and electrical installation for onshore wind farms as a turn-key
