{"id":17611,"date":"2022-06-28T13:41:21","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T10:41:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/albayanmagazine.com\/?p=17611"},"modified":"2022-06-28T13:41:23","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T10:41:23","slug":"intercontinental-unveils-limited-edition-suites-with-claire-luxton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/albayanmagazine.com\/en\/intercontinental-unveils-limited-edition-suites-with-claire-luxton\/?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"InterContinental unveils limited-edition suites with Claire Luxton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">InterContinental Hotels &amp; Resorts, part of <em>IHG Hotels &amp; Resorts<\/em> Luxury and Lifestyle Collection, has collaborated with acclaimed British artist Claire Luxton to unveil a series of fully immersive experiences at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihg.com\/intercontinental\/hotels\/us\/en\/london\/lonhb\/hoteldetail\">InterContinental London Park Lane<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihg.com\/intercontinental\/hotels\/us\/en\/new-york\/nycha\/hoteldetail\">InterContinental New York Barclay<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihg.com\/intercontinental\/hotels\/us\/en\/dubai\/dxbhb\/hoteldetail\">InterContinental Dubai Festival City<\/a>. Bookable now through to mid-July, the experiences celebrate the joy of worldliness and the beauty of global travel as told through a Claire Luxton lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Claire Luxton Experience at InterContinental Dubai Festival City heroes a limited-edition suite which have been designed and curated by the artist and depict her interpretation of InterContinental Hotels &amp; Resorts. Taking cues from her personal travels and inspirations, Luxton brings the brand to life through the natural flora and fauna signature to her artwork in combination with an array of sensory experiences, including a drawn bath and soundscape. Every detail and room accent across the suite has been transformed to reflect the artist\u2019s style with features including bespoke artwork, lighting and soft furnishings, that represent InterContinental hotels in Japan and Southeast Asia, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A drawn bath experience with a curated soundscape, aromas and florals enhances the stay for guests. Additional discoveries in the suite include a special playlist and coffee table books reflecting Luxton\u2019s travels. Guests booking the suite at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City will also be offered a massage for two in the hotel\u2019s luxury spa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Claire Luxton said: <\/strong>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled to partner with InterContinental Hotels &amp; Resorts again, interpreting the brand\u2019s story of worldliness. Global travel inspires my work, and I hope it shines through in every detail of the collaboration, from the foyer florals and the hotel team\u2019s custom scarves to the drawn bath experience and the artworks themselves. Each flower and animal within my work for InterContinental reflects a hotel or resort from its past, present or future. In curating the design of these suites and experiences, I sought to explore the delicate equilibrium between humans and nature while celebrating the magic of wanderlust.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luxton has brought her touch to other areas of the hotels too:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lobbies will be transformed with butterflies and vibrant floral installations that pay homage to distinctive InterContinental locales around the world.<\/li><li>At InterContinental New York Barclay and Dubai Festival City, Claire Luxton-inspired food and beverage offerings will be available, including a selection of cocktails, mocktails and afternoon tea.<\/li><li>Additionally, specially curated uniform accessories will adorn hotel staff, with team members wearing floral silk scarves and pocket squares featuring the Indian Peafowl &#8211; a nod to InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This collaboration with Claire Luxton builds on the brand\u2019s 75<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary celebration. In December, Claire Luxton created an installation that was projected onto the fa\u00e7ade of InterContinental London Park Lane. The artwork depicted the global journey of the pioneering luxury hotel brand \u2013 from motifs with a Blue and Yellow Macaw, representing the first InterContinental hotel in Bel\u00e9m, Brazil, to the Mediterranean Moluccella, spotlighting the brand\u2019s growing portfolio in Italy with InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace poised to open later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tom Rowntree, Vice President Global Marketing for Luxury Brands at IHG Hotels &amp; Resorts, commented:<\/strong> \u201cInterContinental Hotels &amp; Resorts has delighted worldly travelers by bringing luxury experiences to every corner of the globe for more than 75 years.
