CHANEL Unveils the New PREMIÈRE GALON Watch

A new bracelet, a new way of wearing, a new signature. With the new PREMIÈRE GALON, CHANEL reinterprets the couture braid, one of the House’s most recognizable signature elements, bringing a new expression of style to its iconic PREMIÈRE watch.

First introduced in 1987 as CHANEL’s first watch creation, the PREMIÈRE entered the world of watchmaking by breaking away from traditional masculine codes. Inspired by the octagonal shape of the N°5 perfume bottle stopper and featuring the leather chain of the House’s iconic quilted bag as its bracelet, the timepiece quickly established itself as a distinctive expression of CHANEL’s creative freedom.

In 2025, the PREMIÈRE draws inspiration from another emblematic element of the CHANEL wardrobe: the braid. Gabrielle Chanel used braided trims throughout her suits to emphasize edges, decorate pockets and cuffs, and structure the silhouette. Crafted using different materials and techniques, the braid became an enduring signature of the House’s couture aesthetic.

The PREMIÈRE GALON translates this heritage into a new bracelet design. Crafted as a bangle from a twisted braid, the bracelet offers a new way of wearing the iconic timepiece. The 18-carat yellow gold bracelet frames a pure black lacquered dial, deliberately free of indicators.

The PREMIÈRE GALON is also available in two diamond-set versions, extending the design into the world of fine jewelry while preserving the watch’s distinctly couture character.

With PREMIÈRE GALON, CHANEL continues to reinterpret its watchmaking icons through the codes, craftsmanship and creative freedom that define the House.
