BBK Supports 7th Government Forum to Combat Trafficking in Persons in the Middle East

BBK, a leader in retail and corporate banking in the Kingdom of Bahrain, sponsored the seventh Government Forum to Combat Trafficking in Persons in the Middle East and its accompanying “Insan” exhibition.

The forum took place in Bahrain from 12 to 14 October 2026 and welcomed H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the International Human Rights Affairs Committee, alongside government officials, international organizations and private sector representatives.

Held under the theme “Enhancing the Sustainability of Efforts through Innovation and Partnerships”, the event provided a platform to strengthen regional coordination and explore new approaches to preventing trafficking and protecting those at risk.

BBK’s sponsorship underscored its commitment to corporate social responsibility and to advancing national efforts to uphold human dignity, protect individual rights and strengthen safeguards against exploitation.

BBK emphasized that combating human trafficking required sustained collaboration between governments, international organizations and the private sector, reaffirming its commitment to supporting national efforts to protect vulnerable individuals and uphold human dignity. It also highlighted the importance of practical recommendations to strengthen regional cooperation and the role of technology, strategic communications and the arts in raising public awareness and preventing exploitation.

The Forum’s discussions covered child and domestic worker protection, media engagement and the use of artificial intelligence, alongside Bahrain’s experience and private sector initiatives. The “Insan” exhibition complemented the programme by exploring the role of art in raising awareness of human trafficking.
